  1. Impaired consciousness: Temporary or persistent loss of consciousness, disorientation, or confusion may be indicative of.
  2. Headache: Persistent or increasing headache may indicate brain damage following a SHT.
  3. Nausea and vomiting: Nausea, vomiting or dizziness may be an indication of SHT.
  4. Memory loss: confusion, memory loss, or difficulty concentrating may indicate damage to the brain after a SHT.
  5. Behavioral or personality changes: behavioral changes, mood swings, or depression may be an indication of SHT.

It is important to see a doctor immediately if a SHT is suspected. Only a doctor can make a diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment.

 

Treatments

  3. Speech therapy: speech therapy focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, voice, swallowing and hearing disorders and can be used to treat SHT.
  4. Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapy focuses on developing skills for daily activities to promote independence and can be used to treat SHT.
  5. Magnetic Laser Therapy: Magnetic laser therapy can help reduce inflammation and pain and promote tissue and cell regeneration and may be beneficial in SHT.

It is important that treatment planning for TBI is individualized. This may include other types of treatment such as reflex therapy, hot and cold packs or magnetic therapy, which can help to relieve pain and inflammation and promote recovery.
