Myotenofasciotomy is suitable for both children and adults with cerebral palsy and after severe brain injuries. The result is muscle relaxation, greater range of motion, and increased effectiveness of neurophysiological exercises. Patients benefit from improved mobility, stability, and balance, which improves their health and quality of life. When performed in the neck and face area, the procedure also has a direct impact on eating and speech.
Dr. Igor Nazarov has been dedicated to the further development of the surgical treatment method "closed selective myotenofasciotomy" since 1992. During the procedure, he makes fine, precise incisions with a small, crescent-shaped scalpel. To date, more than 9,000 patients from many countries around the world, including Slovakia, have been treated with this method.
Before the procedure, a detailed examination and consultation will take place to determine the exact course of the operation. The surgical procedure is performed exclusively in Barcelona (Spain), under local or short-term general anesthesia, and lasts 1 to 3 hours. Hospitalization (in the presence of a parent, of course) usually lasts no longer than 1 day/night.
