Abstract
A specially designed device for proprioceptive correction to restore motor functions in the proximal parts of the upper extremity in central paresis syndrome in the late restorative and residual phases of stroke is offered. The device is a logical continuation of the Penguin, Gravistat proprioceptive correction systems aimed at restoring balance and gait in post-stroke patients. It consists of a waist coat, cuffs connected with a system of elastic bands fixed around the upper arm and the arm of the paretic upper limb. Regulation of tension of elastic bands allows to create regimes of "facilitated" work and increased effort during active movements in proximal parts of a paretic arm. The effectiveness of using the proprioceptive corrective suit to restore conscious movements in the upper limb was demonstrated in 23 patients in the late restorative and residual phases of stroke. As a result of treatment, most patients showed a reliable reduction of paresis expression in the arm, and the rate of recovery exceeded the indices in the control group. It is appropriate to use the proprioceptive corrective suit in the context of neurorehabilitative measures to restore conscious movements in one arm of the post-stroke affected patient.
