Around 2,000 patients from 67 countries - from Ethiopia to the USA - are treated here every year, including people with head or spinal cord injuries, strokes, Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis. In addition to medical care, ADELI also organizes special experiences that appeal to both body and soul. At the end of September, the center hosted its sixth culinary evening with top Sicilian chef Giuseppe "Peppe" Giacomazza.
Culinary delights meet therapy
The guests were accompanied by fine Italian music - film and operetta melodies that rounded off the atmosphere. The dinner began with bocconcini, small rolls of choux pastry filled with basil mayonnaise and agar-agar, garnished with Parmesan cream. A small choux - French for cabbage - was topped with a cherry tomato. The main course was risotto arancino, Peppe's favorite dish from his native Agrigento, colored with saffron from the slopes of Mount Etna. Wine, tender beef ragout and a special crumble mixture of roasted almonds rounded off the dish - a fine test of the senses.
La Botte - passion and heart
Peppe Giacomazza, TV and streaming star of njam!, took over the La Botte restaurant from his father and now runs it as a Michelin-starred kitchen. "I'd love to come back next year. Moments like this remind us that health is the most valuable thing," he says. ADELI shows how therapy, enjoyment and hope go hand in hand: Not only are physical functions restored here, but moments are also created that give courage and a zest for life.
Our therapy programs are individually tailored to the needs of our patients.
