The lecture by Prof. Dr. Marguerite Dunitz-Scheer in ADELI

The experienced scientist, academic and pediatrician opened up a new perspective on eating and food intake, in which the child or adult patient sets the pace and direction of their own oral development.
Today we were presented with clear scientific facts!
Prof. Dr. Marguerite Dunitz-Scheer's lecture brought to light exactly what we had perhaps only suspected until now.
The experienced scientist, academic and pediatrician opened up a new perspective on eating and food intake, in which the child or adult patient sets the pace and direction of their own oral development.
- Their focus extended beyond nutritional aspects and also included non-nutritive factors such as social, sensory, regulatory and emotional influences.
- She gave us an insight into the complexity and the far-reaching intended and unintended effects of enteral nutrition therapy.
Prof. Marguerite Dunitz-Scheer also presented long-term results of a weaning program from tube feeding and emphasized the importance of direct observation of the "feeding scene" (whether live or via video analysis) as an essential diagnostic tool and decisive starting point for any further treatment.
She concluded by emphasizing the indispensable role of interdisciplinary cooperation, without which comprehensive and effective care would not be possible.
We feel honored and look forward to continuing our cooperation!
