Successes in the treatment of cerebral palsy in the ADELI Medical Center

The ADELI Medical Center offers advanced therapies for cerebral palsy based on individualized neurorehabilitative programs and the incorporation of state-of-the-art technologies.

The ADELI Medical Center is distinguished by its dedicated two-week treatment program for patients with cerebral palsy (CP). We are setting new standards with a six-day therapy week that offers up to six hours of comprehensive interventions every day.

Cerebral palsy encompasses a variety of disorders that manifest themselves through restricted movement and muscle stiffness (spasticity). These result from developmental anomalies of the brain or brain damage before, during or shortly after birth. At ADELI Medical Center , the focus is on individually tailored neurorehabilitative programs that specifically stimulate the proprioceptive system. Even though cerebral palsy is considered an incurable neurological disorder, we have proven countless times that improvements can be achieved.

Early and comprehensive therapy is crucial and utilizes the most advanced methods of neurorehabilitation. We offer tailor-made programs that lead to real progress with varied, intensive and consistently applied therapies. All progress is individual and absolutely possible.

Early intervention in infants and young children with neurological developmental problems in particular can significantly increase the chances of positive development. Our ADELI BabyMed department attaches great importance to early detection and early intervention in order to prevent long-term impairments.

We start therapy from the 28th day of life to support the child's natural development. Our aim is to promote basic skills such as turning, crawling and ultimately independent sitting. The therapy goal for cerebral palsy also includes improving mobility in the orofacial area. Our clinical speech therapists work intensively to improve the sucking reflex as well as food processing and swallowing, thereby laying the foundations for later speech development.

With the BabyMed program and other neurorehabilitation programs, ADELI Medical Center covers the entire range of age groups with cerebral palsy. Individually tailored plans ensure intensive care for several hours a day, six days a week.

In addition to movement therapy and clinical speech therapy, our approach also includes manual and reflex therapy methods as well as the latest technologies such as the ICAROS devices for exercises in virtual reality. Complementary therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy promote the supply of oxygen to the brain and are a further component of our holistic treatment approach.

Regular and systematic repetition of the rehabilitation goals leads to remarkable successes. An integrative approach that also involves relatives is part of our successful concept. After all, progress not only brings joy and hope to patients, but also transforms the perception of neurological disease from a problem into a surmountable challenge.
