Haircut marathon: THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP

On October 5, 2025, the ADELI Medical Center Piešťany will be transformed into an arena full of beauty, joy, and friendship.

The ADELI Medical Center much more than an internationally recognized center for neurorehabilitation—it is a place where medical excellence meets human empathy. People with injuries or diseases of the brain and spinal cord find not only highly qualified treatment here, but also understanding, support, and motivation on their path to a better life. ADELI sees its mission not only in rehabilitation, but also in connecting people through friendship, solidarity, and mutual help. Numerous projects promote not only therapeutic progress, but also social integration, bringing values such as cohesion and compassion into society.

Claudia Poidock, Managing Director of the ADELI Medical Center, puts it in a nutshell:
"I welcome any opportunity to help a person - figuratively or literally - to get back on their feet. The haircut marathon is a wonderful example of how the useful can be combined with the pleasant. Here, scissors and hairdryers are not just tools for hairdressers, but symbols of change - change that can be the start of a new life."

For her, the event is far more than just a showcase for the hairdressing trade: "It's a celebration of solidarity, a space where creativity meets empathy and where the public can experience first-hand that hope has countless faces. And to be honest - I think it's only fair that someone who gives help should receive something valuable in return: be it a new hairstyle, a smile or the feeling of having been part of something meaningful."

Amy Ondrlová, a 13-year-old schoolgirl, came to ADELI for the first time thanks to the TV program "V siedmom nebi" (In Seventh Heaven). Following spinal surgery, she has made enormous progress thanks to the intensive therapies: she has been able to straighten up, walk with a walking frame and is gradually returning to active life and school. For Amy, the rehabilitation measures are much more than physical training - they are a bridge to her dreams. An outstanding student, she plans to attend a post-secondary health school next year and dedicate her life to helping others. The ADELI Haircut Marathon is an opportunity to support Amy on this journey. The 5th ADELI Haircut Marathon - THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP will bring a festive atmosphere to the center of Piešťany on Sunday, October 5, 2025. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can expect a continuous show full of hairdressing artistry, led by Lukáš Očenáš from Košice and a team of ten professional stylists from WELLA PROFESSIONALS. New, creative hairstyles are created throughout the day - scissors, hairdryers, curling irons and straighteners run at full speed.

"We help people who want to make progress in their lives," emphasizes the well-known stylist Lukáš Očenáš. "Passing on help is fantastic," adds Henrietta Ričány, Wella representative in Slovakia, who has supported the project not only with active participation, but also with generous donations on several occasions.

The marathon is a living example of imagination, perseverance and passion - qualities that not only characterize the hairdressing trade, but also enable the daily success of patients in rehabilitation.
