Origins of the performance Dance, dance...

It was a great success! The Slovak Folk Dance Collective SĽUK invited a group of ADELI Foundation members to dance, and the applause was never-ending! See how the extraordinary dance and music performance "Tancuj, tancuj, neseď v kúte" was created.

The video presents the participants in the project, including ADELI Foundation members Janka Mošťková, Timea Hečková, Marek Kujan, sisters Lenka and Mária Ščepánková, Boris Pršo, Karolína Šimuneková, Lenka Jobbová, Nikolka Čapkovičová and Saskia Holubová.

The project author Radka Šulovská, the dancer and head of dynamic movement therapy Ján Jamrich, the artistic director of SĽUK Stanislav Marišler and the head of the dance department of SĽUK, choreographer Marek Grega, also have their say.

On October 29, 2024, the Kunsthaus in Piešťany became the setting for an unforgettable and significant evening.

The idea for the performance "Tancuj, tancuj, neseď v kúte" originated at ADELI and has been realized in cooperation with the Slovak Folk Dance Ensemble (SĽUK) by the ADELI Foundation since August 2024.

The complex logistical and organizational challenges posed no obstacle to bringing together professional folklore dancers and dancers with mobility impairments. The aim was to show that art knows no boundaries. The premiere received great support and recognition, and among those present was the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini.

Under the patronage of the project author Radka Šulovská, the artistic director of SĽUK Stanislav Marišler and the head of the dance department of SĽUK Marek Grega, a unique space was created on stage in which traditional Slovak folk culture merged with personal stories of courage and the desire to overcome boundaries.

"For us, dance is a language with which we can express our dreams, feelings and wishes. We are very proud of all the participants who have proven that dance is not determined by limitations, but by passion, strength and the joy of movement," said Radka Šulovská, managing director and trustee of the ADELI Foundation and author of the project, during the premiere.

"Such projects help others to understand the world of people with disabilities and offer us new opportunities. It's a great way to return to an activity we love and show that inclusion is possible," said Janka Mošťková, who overcomes Guillain-Barré syndrome.

In addition to the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, the President of the Trnava Region, Jozef Viskupič, and the Deputy Mayor of Piešťany, Ján Krupa, also supported the performance with their presence.

The SĽUK, which is known worldwide for its precise and energetic folklore choreography, demonstrated its pioneering role in the field of inclusion in this project.

Dance can be a path to mutual understanding and support, despite the limitations that are often not defined by an illness, but by the environment.
