Why such strong wording? Their perspective on the topic of nutrition differs not only in the act of eating itself. They also approach behavior, habits, supportive aids, and communication with non-verbal children differently. Thanks to their know-how, they succeed in discovering a way of food intake—through getting to know one another, constant experimentation, curiosity, creativity, and finding new approaches—where every bite ceases to be a battle. And it is precisely at this moment that frustration dissolves, and children or adults suddenly achieve things that previously seemed impossible.
"Crucial for the therapy is, first and foremost, recognizing that the patient must tackle the problem together with experts and should begin therapy," says Prof. Dr. Peter Scheer.
Physiotherapist Eva Kerschischnik emphasizes a fundamental prerequisite for starting therapy: "The most important criterion is the ability to swallow."
In the context of childhood eating disorders, it is important that specialists are involved in the treatment. Not as someone providing simple instructions, but as a companion who helps to unravel the complex web of relationships, habits, and emotions.
In September 2026, the experts from NoTube Graz are scheduled to return to ADELI. Consultations as well as the PlayPicnic program are planned once again.
