Hyperbaric chamber in ADELI: more oxygen, more beauty

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy at the ADELI Clinic improves skin and hair, promotes healing after surgery and strengthens the immune system by increasing oxygen levels in the body, which supports cellular regeneration and anti-inflammatory effects.

There is another way to boost your beauty. According to doctors, a hyperbaric chamber can contribute to firmer skin and shinier hair.

Under normal conditions, we breathe in air that contains only 21 percent oxygen in our everyday lives. In the hyperbaric chamber, you put on a mask and breathe in air that consists of one hundred percent oxygen. This allows a large amount of oxygen to enter the body, which - and this is very important - flows under pressure. Under such conditions, physico-chemical processes take effect, which state that a gas dissolves best in a liquid under pressure. In this case, oxygen, as a gas, dissolves in our blood, i.e. in a liquid. "The oxygen thus reaches the plasma and every cell in the body, even the peripheral parts of our organism. The hyperbaric chamber therefore increases the amount of oxygen in the body right down to the DNA level. It can therefore stimulate DNA at the cellular level, which means that it can regenerate tissue," says Dr. Inna Durda, Head of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Department at ADELI.

Oxygen tightens the skin

Plastic surgery has also recognized this fact, and the hyperbaric chamber, originally developed to treat basic diseases, has found its way into the beauty world. "Every one of our patients who has been in the chamber reports improvements in the area of beauty too. There is a logic to this - oxygen works very well on the skin. For example, it has an anti-inflammatory effect on skin diseases. And it also has a regenerative effect, regenerating hair and skin. It renews new cells and replaces old ones. The hyperbaric chamber increases vascular tone, thus tightening the skin and also displacing toxic substances from the body," says Dr. Durda. She adds that oxygen de facto feeds our cells. If oxygen doesn't get into the cell, the cell dies.

Better healing after the scalpel

More and more representatives of the fairer sex and even strong men are going under the plastic surgeon's knife. The hyperbaric chamber can also help them considerably. "HBOT promotes blood flow to the operated areas, which speeds up the healing process and reduces swelling at the same time. This makes the recovery process more comfortable and shortens the recovery time after surgery. HBOT also reduces pain, so the patient feels less pain after the operation," explains Dr. Inna Durda. This means that patients can return to everyday life and work more quickly after plastic surgery with the help of treatments in the hyperbaric chamber. "Wounds heal faster under pressure in the hyperbaric chamber. That's why the 'cure' in the hyperbaric chamber was also introduced in plastic surgery after operations," says the doctor. The pressure in the hyperbaric chamber reaches a value of 2.2 atmospheres, whereas the air we breathe in our normal lives has a pressure of one atmosphere. It is therefore twice as high in the chamber.

Further advantages

It has also been found that spending time in the hyperbaric chamber before cosmetic surgery improves skin quality. This makes the operation more successful. The hyperbaric chamber improves skin and tissue quality before surgery, which increases the effectiveness of cosmetic procedures. "And there is another positive effect of the hyperbaric chamber - more oxygen in the body strengthens our immune system. This is because being in the chamber increases the number of white blood cells. When a person has more white blood cells, their body's ability to defend itself also increases," notes Dr. Inna Durda. "To summarize, hyperbaric oxygen therapy uses pure oxygen in a controlled pressure environment to heal and regenerate the body. Under these conditions, the blood can carry more oxygen, which promotes healing at the cellular level. The treatment is particularly effective in tissue regeneration," concludes Dr. Inna Durda.
